The New EMEET Speakerphone Promises Clearer Conference Calls

Are you getting tired of wearing headphones when making Zoom calls? Headphones or headsets can be a bit of a nuisance because most don’t include mic monitoring or sidetone so it’s often hard to hear your own voice. One solution to this problem is to use a speakerphone instead.

The new EMEET Conference Speakerphone M2 Max has just been announced. The EMEET brand has a reputation for making affordable portable speakerphones and this latest model is a shift into a more professional market with some powerful new features. The M2 Max can be used in meetings ranging from just one person to as many as 15.

The new model not only supports Bluetooth and USB connectivity, it also has cascade and auxiliary connections. With four directional microphones and a sampling rate of 48KHz 16-bit, the bluetooth conference speaker M2 Max has a higher resolution that can better convey small volume changes and voice inflexions. Two M2 Max speakerphones can be linked for use in meetings with a larger number of participants.

The four 10mm directional microphones inside the M2 Max are linked to a voiceIA algorithm designed to eliminate common background noises, such as the sound of a mouse clicking, typing on a keyboard or the hum of an HVAC unit. Compared with eMeet’s M2 model, the M2 Max has a beefed-up 5W speaker, which enables voices to be heard more clearly in a larger room. The unit also has a 3.5mm earphone output for making private calls when required.

When it comes to connecting the speakerphone to a smartphone, tablet or computer there’s a choice of USB connection, direct Bluetooth paring, analog auxiliary input, plus a high-quality Bluetooth dongle for connecting with computers that don’t have a Bluetooth chipset built in. The dongle also provides a higher quality audio than many integral Bluetooth connections.

When connected using the supplied USB cable, the M2 Max can turn itself on when answering a call. The M2 Max is also compatible with a wide range of comms software, including Zoom, Skype for Business, WebEx, Goto Meeting, Google Hangout, Facetime etc as well as computers running Windows 7/8/10 or macOS.

Besides the voiceIA noise reduction technology, the EMEET M2 Max has isolating rubber feet to cut down vibrations. Both the speaker and the microphones have three levels of internal isolation to stop any remaining vibrations and enhance voice quality.

The speakerphone also works with EMEETLINK, an app that can be used to rename the Bluetooth identifier of the unit to make it easier to distinguish from other devices. EMEET Link can also set the amount of standby time before the speaker powers itself off.

As well as being able to be powered via a USB cable, the EMEET M2 Max also has a built-in lithium-ion battery that provides up to 12 hours of talk time and that makes it ideal for portable use, enabling the M2 Max to be used for making calls in places where there’s no convenient power outlet.
